Katakhanas: (Kay-TAC-han-ahs)

In the Greek islands of Crete and Rhodes, a type of vampire called a katakhanás must be killed by hitting it in the head with a sharp-edged weapon and then throwing boiling vinegar on top of it (see GREEK VAMPIRES).
